2,996 is a tribute to the victims of 9/11.

On September 11, 2006, 2,996 volunteer bloggers

will join together for a tribute to the victims of 9/11.

Each person will pay tribute to a single victim.

We will honor them by remembering their lives,

and not by remembering their murderers.

Michael Emmett Brennan

When I read about Michael Emmett Brennan, I see much more than a photo or a list of accomplishments. I see stories that keep memories of a good man alive. I see a family showing their love for their lost loved one and friends honoring his memory by telling of the good times they shared.

Known by family and friends as Mikey B., a lover of life and practical jokes, Michael Emmett Brennan, age 27, lived his life to the fullest. Active in sports and passionate about his chosen line of work, he lived life on his terms, serving his community and country as a firefighter with Ladder Company 4.

Although Michael Emmett Brennan lost his life at the World Trade Center while working to save the lives of others on September 11, 2001, his memory lives on in the hearts of those who love him and those who honor his dedication, bravery and service to our country.
